It turns out that, for whatever reason, dayz specifically doesn’t like my PCs wifi card (Gigabyte GC-WB1733D-I) but is totally fine with my laptop’s wifi card. So, I was thinking that somehow the game files had got messed up and was preventing the connection that way. ![]() Naturally, I assumed it couldn’t be a hardware issue with my PC’s wifi card since I have flawless wifi on my PC and don’t have connection problems with other games AT ALL. ![]() Well, thankfully, after 1 month I managed to discover a solution! I kept wondering why connecting to dayz via wifi worked on my laptop and not on my PC…. TLDR: Ethernet cable going from my PC and into a wifi range extender has completely resolved the “Connecting Failed (0x00020009)” error. If anyone knows a solution to the Connecting Failed (0x00020009) error I would be really grateful since I really want to play dayz on my PC for many months now. I dont use a VPN on my PC & laptop either so that can't be interfering. So it can't be my router that's causing the issue - it must be something to do with my PC. Tried verifying integrity of game cache and that doesn't work either.Īlso, the really ODD thing is that I don't get this error when I boot up DayZ on my gaming laptop which is connected to the SAME router as my PC. I have also checked my firewall settings and DayZ is allowed so it can't be that. ![]() I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game several times now and I always get this same connecting failed error. Every time I try and join any server (official or non-official/modded) I get the "Connecting Failed (0x00020009)" error. I haven't been able to play DayZ on my PC at all for several months now.
